Melrose Rugby Bulletin 24/4/25

Evening Folks!

Hope everyone is having a great week – it’s a busy one down at the Greenyards! As you know we had Rugby Camps all week last week, Despite the weather the kids seemed to have a blast and we’ve had really good feedback. A big WELL DONE, to Iain and all the other coaches and a massive THANK YOU to Darcy Graham and Ross McCann who came to help out on Wednesday! Rugby camp moved seamlessly into Youth 7s on Friday afternoon and saw teams from all over the Borders arrive at the Greenyards, Annay Road and the Battery. It was fairly damp but the atmosphere was anything but!

Saturday morning saw the U16’s competition at the Greenyards, then in the afternoon/evening it was the turn of the U18s – a great tournament and fantastic to have so many teams from the Borders and Lothian join us!

As the youth were honing their 7s skills, the senior team got the business done! They did the double! A win at Hawick against Durham Uni  in the final,24-14 and we retained the Berwick Cup with a win against Kelso. The score was Melrose 19 – 12 Kelso.  Two 7s tournaments in 1 weekend took their toll – lots of sore bodies among the team this week! We go again this weekend, luckily, it’s just Langholm on Saturday!
