Melrose Rugby Bulletin 17/4/25

Afternoon Folks,

What a busy week it’s been here at the club! We’ve just finished day 4 of 5 kids rugby camps which have been amazing this week! The highlight was probably on Wednesday (which saw some horrible weather) but we were lucky enough to welcome Darcy Graham & Ross McCann to the club. The kids did a Q&A with them - a couple of memorable questions included – ‘why are you not in the Lions team?’ ‘Who is your most annoying team-mate?’ (Darcy said Ross!!) – the guys were brilliant with the kids and spent over and hour in the hall chatting and signing anything the kids thrust at them! A massive thank you to everyone who’s been here this week, especially Iain and all his coaches – you’ve all been superb! We have one little boy who has lost a black Nike boot bag that had his packed lunch and drink in it – so if anyone has got an extra bag at home, it would be great if you could drop it in at the club! (BAG NOW FOUND & RETURNED!)

Not sure how the Hawick kids felt about Darcy in the Black & Yellow! What a good sport he was!

We’ve got some touring teams in town next week!

Think that covers us for the next week! A busy place indeed!!

We said Goodbye to Struan Hutchison (who’ll on the pitch for Southern Districts in Sydney this weekend) & Al Ferrie who’s off to join him in Sydney on Sunday,  next week it’s the turn of Evan Davies to leave town!

Evan joined us at the beginning of the season from Toronto & has made a great impact since he’s been here. He’s off to join up with the Canadian national squad over the summer. Go well Evan, and we hope to see you back in Melrose at some point!

Evan scoring our bonus point in our win against Musselburgh - the final game of the season!

I think that's all the news for this week -

Very best wishes

Hilary
