Melrose Rugby Bulletin - 11/3/25
Afternoon Folks,
An early bulletin this week as there is lots going on at the club to remind you about! We’ll start with the rugby!
Tonight at 7:30pm The Storm takes on the St. Paul Jazz Pigs who are currently touring Scotland from Minnesota – we’d love as much support as possible, so put on your big coat and come on down!
Saturday 15/3/25 – The 1XV are away to Edinburgh Accies – KO 3pm
Saturday – The U16s are taking on George Watsons at the Greenyards – KO 10:30am
The U18s are doing their ‘Everest Challenge’ climbing the Eildons 31 times (the equivalent of Everest) on Saturday – this is continued fundraising for their trip to Rosslyn Park Sevens – there is still time to support their effort by CLICKING HERE – On behalf of the Wasps ‘THANK YOU’ so much to all of you who have already generously donated, it will make a MASSIVE difference!
Super Saturday at the Club
As you know, this weekend is the culmination of the Six Nations - if you're not going to Paris (have a brilliant time all of you who are!) then the rugby club is the place to be! The bars will be open, the TVs will be on and there will be bar snacks! We're showing all 3 games starting at 2:15pm with Italy v Ireland, then at 4:45pm it's Wales v England and finally, the one we're all waiting for at 8pm it's France v Scotland!
Girls International Rugby
Tuesday 18th March – We’re delighted to welcome an U18 Girls touring team from Rapids Rugby who come from the Comox Valley in British Columbia, Canada. They will be playing the Borders Girls U18’s here at the Greenyards. They are here on Monday for training and their match kicks off at 7pm on Tuesday night.
Melrose Sevens Info Session
A quick reminder about Thursday night – we’re having a Sevens’s Info session at the club. So, pop down at 7pm to hear about all the plans & exciting partnerships for our big weekend!
Vintage Kit
You might remember that last week we appealed for any vintage kit you might have floating around, we’ll we’re off to a great start with some smashing pieces so far…let’s keep the momentum going! If you have anything that could do with a new home, drop it by the office and we’ll add it to the collection!
Awards Night
Our annual Club Awards Dinner is taking place on Friday April 4th. It’s a great night where we celebrate our players, along with some special recognition awards. There is a 3-course meal, there will be music and maybe even a bit of dancing! Tickets £35 and places are limited but if you’d like to come along, please CLICK HERE to purchase your ticket.
Well, I think that's about it for now! Apart from saying a huge THANK YOU to Ally Leach & Fiona Wood who are currently in the kitchen cooking the biggest ever players dinner for 60 + players tonight!
